GTA 6 pre-orders have officially opened in the UK, giving players their first opportunity to secure Rockstar Games’ long awaited return to Vice City.

The Standard Edition costs £69.99, while the Ultimate Edition is priced at £89.99. Both versions are available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S ahead of the game’s release on 19 November 2026.

The confirmed figures end months of speculation about whether Rockstar would push the basic game towards £100. That has not happened. However, the publisher has reserved several notable features and customisation options for its more expensive package.

GTA 6 UK Price Is Lower Than Some Predictions

The official GTA 6 UK price places the Standard Edition in line with many modern blockbuster releases. At £69.99, it costs the same as several recent premium console games.

The Ultimate Edition adds another £20. It provides exclusive vehicles, weapons, clothing and activities connected to Jason and Lucia’s criminal journey. Rockstar says the additional content will appear throughout the story rather than being delivered as a single collection at the beginning.

Fans may be surprised that the basic edition has remained below some of the more dramatic predictions. Reports had previously suggested that the scale and development cost of Grand Theft Auto VI could produce an unusually high launch price.

Rockstar has instead adopted a familiar two level structure. The standard game remains competitively priced, while dedicated fans can pay more for expanded content.

What Comes With the Standard Edition?

The GTA 6 Standard Edition includes the complete single player game. Players will experience the main story featuring Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, a couple drawn into a criminal conspiracy after an apparently simple robbery goes wrong.

The game takes place across Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional interpretation of Florida. Vice City sits at its centre, although trailers and screenshots have also shown wetlands, highways, coastal communities and rural locations.

Rockstar has described this setting as the largest and most immersive evolution of Grand Theft Auto so far. The company has not confirmed every gameplay system, but the available footage points towards denser crowds, detailed interiors and a stronger focus on social media culture.

What Does the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Include?

The GTA 6 Ultimate Edition includes the base game alongside a collection of exclusive extras. These cover vehicles, personalised weapons, outfits, tattoos and specialist businesses.

Certain customisation locations will only operate for Ultimate Edition owners. These include businesses focused on vehicles, fashion, beauty and body art. Additional activities involve recovering abandoned cars and raiding a gang compound for valuable contraband.

This distinction has caused some debate. Cosmetic bonuses are common in premium editions, but exclusive shops and activities feel more substantial. For players who consider car modification and character customisation central to the GTA experience, the £20 upgrade may be difficult to ignore.

In contrast, anyone mainly interested in the core narrative can purchase the Standard Edition without losing access to Jason and Lucia’s principal story.

Pre-Order Bonuses Include the Vintage Vice City Pack

Customers who place a GTA 6 pre-order, or purchase the game before 20 November, will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.

The bonus collection draws on the style of Vice City’s earlier era. It includes a classic sedan, an Ocean Beach garage, retro outfits, hairstyles and a tropical weapon finish. The items provide a nostalgic link to the neon identity that shaped the series’ 2002 visit to the city.

Digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+. The membership provides benefits for the existing GTA Online service and access to selected Rockstar titles. Customers should note that the subscription renews at its regular monthly price unless cancelled.

Neither edition includes early access to GTA 6. Standard and Ultimate Edition owners share the same official launch date.

Boxed Copies Will Not Include a Game Disc

Rockstar is selling a boxed version, but the package will contain a digital download code instead of a physical disc. This applies to the console release and has already frustrated some collectors.

The box will become available on 12 November, one week before launch. Buyers can redeem the enclosed code and download the game in advance, allowing them to start playing when access opens on 19 November.

Digital customers can also begin pre-loading on 12 November. The early download period should prove useful because the installation is expected to be sizeable, although Rockstar has not yet published the final storage requirement.

A code inside a case offers little practical difference from buying through a digital storefront. It also limits resale and lending options. For collectors, that matters. For Rockstar, it reduces manufacturing demands and gives the company tighter control over distribution.

PS5 and Xbox Launch First

Grand Theft Auto VI will initially launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date.

The console first strategy follows the company’s established pattern. GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 both arrived on consoles before receiving PC versions later. A similar release is widely expected here, but it remains unconfirmed.

After more than a decade without a new main entry, demand is unlikely to depend on a small price difference. The more important question is whether players accept meaningful customisation content being reserved for the Ultimate Edition.

That decision could influence how other publishers structure premium releases. GTA 6 is not simply another major launch. Its pricing, digital distribution and edition strategy may set expectations across the industry.
