GTA 6 DualSense controller pre-orders are officially live in the UK, giving PlayStation 5 owners their first chance to secure Sony’s limited-edition hardware inspired by Rockstar Games’ biggest upcoming release.

Sony has produced two different Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense controllers, available in black and white designs. Both are priced at £74.99 and are scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, the same day that GTA 6 arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Demand was expected to be high before orders even opened. Limited-edition PlayStation accessories often attract collectors, but GTA 6 carries an unusual level of anticipation. That makes these controllers one of the most closely watched PS5 accessory releases of the year.

GTA 6 DualSense Pre-Orders Open Across the UK

Pre-orders officially opened at 10 a.m. UK time on September 10. PlayStation Direct is one of the main destinations for buyers, although availability depends on which version of the controller they want.

The GTA 6 White Limited Edition DualSense has the broader retail release. Sony is offering it through PlayStation Direct as well as participating retailers.

The black version is different. In countries where PlayStation Direct operates, including the UK, the GTA 6 Black Limited Edition DualSense is exclusive to Sony’s direct store.

That restriction could make the black model more difficult to secure. Buyers who prefer it cannot simply switch to another major UK retailer if PlayStation Direct runs out of stock.

For the white controller, however, shoppers have more flexibility and may find additional opportunities as retailers release their allocations.

Both GTA 6 Controllers Cost £74.99

Sony has set the UK price at £74.99 for each GTA 6 DualSense controller. There is no price difference between the black and white versions.

In the United States, the controllers cost $84.99, while the recommended European price is €84.99. Japanese buyers will pay ¥12,480 including tax.

The hardware underneath the special design remains the familiar PS5 DualSense. That means buyers are primarily paying for the limited-edition finish and official Grand Theft Auto VI styling rather than an upgraded controller specification.

It still includes the features PS5 players already know, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion controls and the built-in microphone.

The Designs Take Inspiration From Vice City

The two controllers are closely tied to the visual identity Rockstar has created for GTA 6 and Vice City.

Both use a shimmering finish that can shift in appearance depending on the light. Palm tree details are also moulded into the controller shell, while pink accents bring in colours associated with the tropical, neon-heavy atmosphere seen throughout GTA 6’s promotional material.

The white edition has a brighter appearance that reflects the daytime side of Vice City. Its lighter finish works with pastel elements associated with beaches, bright skies and the fictional state of Leonida.

In contrast, the black edition presents a darker interpretation. The colourful details appear more pronounced against the black shell, giving it a look that feels closer to Vice City after sunset.

Both designs also include subtle Grand Theft Auto VI branding, ensuring they look distinct without covering every surface in logos or artwork.

Why the Black GTA 6 DualSense Could Be Harder to Find

The black controller may become the more desirable edition simply because its UK distribution is narrower.

Sony says both controllers will be produced in limited quantities. However, UK customers looking for the black model must purchase it through PlayStation Direct. The white edition can appear through Sony and other authorised retailers.

That difference matters during a high-demand launch.

Limited PlayStation controllers have previously disappeared from individual retailers quickly before stock returned later. A temporary sellout therefore does not always mean a product is permanently unavailable. However, Sony has not announced how many GTA 6 controllers will be manufactured.

Collectors who specifically want the black edition may therefore have fewer opportunities if the initial allocation sells through.

The Controllers Launch Alongside GTA 6

Both models are expected to begin shipping on November 19, 2026. That date is significant because it coincides directly with the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Rockstar’s new game will initially release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Sony has also confirmed that the PS5 version will take advantage of DualSense features such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, although detailed examples of how those systems will work inside GTA 6 have not yet been revealed.

Driving could be an obvious area for deeper controller feedback. Different road surfaces, vehicle handling and weapon behaviour could also benefit from the DualSense hardware. For now, though, those possibilities remain speculation until Rockstar or Sony provides more specific information.

GTA 6 Hardware Is Becoming Part of the Launch Campaign

The controllers represent another important stage in the growing GTA 6 marketing campaign.

For years, most discussion surrounding the game focused on trailers, characters, the Leonida map and Rockstar’s development timeline. That is changing as launch approaches. Physical products, accessories and pre-orders are now becoming a much larger part of the conversation.

The timing is deliberate. Releasing the controllers alongside the game gives Sony a highly visible piece of official GTA 6 hardware during what could become one of the biggest entertainment launches of 2026.

Fans may be surprised that Sony has introduced two controller designs instead of a single special edition. However, the decision gives buyers a genuine choice while also turning the accessories into collectible items.

For UK players interested in securing one, availability is now the key issue. The white edition offers more purchasing options, while the black model remains the more restricted choice through PlayStation Direct.

Either way, GTA 6 merchandise is no longer something waiting on the horizon. It is already entering the market, months of anticipation are turning into actual purchases, and November 19 is getting much closer.
