Players who work a conventional Monday-to-Friday schedule could book November 20 as annual leave and immediately extend their first GTA 6 weekend.

Those determined to spend even more time exploring Leonida could also book Thursday itself, although exactly when the game becomes playable will depend on Rockstar’s final launch schedule and regional unlock times.

That detail is important.

Players should avoid making complicated plans around midnight launches until Rockstar publishes definitive preload and unlock information for their region.

Once GTA 6 unlocks, clips will spread almost instantly across TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, X and other social platforms.

Major story moments could appear in thumbnails and recommendations before many people have even installed the game.

That problem is much larger today than it was when GTA 5 launched in 2013.
