The Netflix premiere forms part of a timed exclusivity arrangement between Rockstar and the streaming company. Netflix members therefore receive the first opportunity to watch the presentation.
Rockstar confirmed the arrangement earlier in August, describing the collaboration as a new type of partnership. For a game reveal of this scale, choosing Netflix rather than relying solely on YouTube is an unusual marketing decision.

That makes Netflix’s advantage relatively short. Players who want to avoid another subscription can wait until the YouTube release and watch the entire presentation free.

Rockstar has deliberately used the phrase “An Extended Look” rather than calling the presentation Trailer 3. That wording has naturally encouraged speculation that the video could go beyond another cinematic trailer.
