Meta description: GTA 6 has a $400 collector’s box packed with exclusive Vice City merchandise, but Rockstar’s biggest game is surprisingly not included.

Rockstar Games has finally revealed the kind of extravagant merchandise many GTA 6 fans expected to see around launch. There are premium sunglasses, a Vice City cap, a Leonida map, collectibles and even a six inch alligator figure.

There is just one rather important thing missing.

Grand Theft Auto VI itself is not included.

Rockstar’s new The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection costs $399.99 and contains 11 physical items inspired by GTA 6’s fictional state of Leonida. Despite the price and presentation, however, Rockstar describes it as a Collector’s Box rather than an edition of the game.

Anyone buying it will therefore need to purchase GTA 6 separately.

That distinction is likely to attract attention, particularly when $400 puts the package well beyond the price of most conventional special editions. Yet the contents suggest Rockstar is targeting a different audience here: dedicated collectors who want physical pieces of Vice City rather than another version of the software.

What Do You Get for $400?

The collection arrives with a surprisingly eclectic selection of products. Some are collaborations with established brands, while others look deliberately like souvenirs someone might pick up during a questionable holiday in Leonida.

The complete GTA 6 Collector’s Box includes:

  • A six inch Macca the Gator figure with a hidden stash compartment
  • Matte black GTA VI Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses
  • A New Era 9FORTY A Frame snapback featuring Vice City and Leonida details
  • A Leonida Keys crossbody bag
  • A Macca the Gator magnetic mirror
  • A Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
  • A Vice City collectible swizzle spoon
  • A Vice City razor blade keychain
  • A Leonida Keys enamel pin set supplied in a custom metal tin
  • A premium Leonida Keys sticker pack inside a stash bag
  • A double sided souvenir poster featuring a map of Leonida

The Oakley sunglasses and New Era cap stand out because these are not simply generic accessories carrying a GTA logo. Rockstar has partnered with established brands for both products, giving the collection a more premium retail feel.

Other items are considerably stranger. That appears to be intentional.

Rockstar Is Turning Leonida Into a Real Merchandise Brand

One of the more interesting aspects of the collection is how little it relies on conventional Grand Theft Auto branding.

Instead, Rockstar has built much of the package around the fictional culture of Leonida.

Macca the Gator is described as the star of a hit television show within GTA 6’s world. Chunkee the Manatee receives his own shot glass, while several other products carry Leonida Keys or Vice City branding.

In other words, Rockstar is selling merchandise from its fictional universe as though those products existed in reality.

That feels particularly appropriate for Grand Theft Auto. The series has spent decades creating fake television programs, radio stations, companies, celebrities and consumer brands. Much of GTA’s satire comes from those background details.

With GTA 6, some of that fictional consumer culture is crossing into the real world before players even begin exploring Leonida.

The Leonida Map May Be the Real Collector’s Item

For players less interested in sunglasses or novelty glassware, one item could make the package particularly interesting: the Leonida map.

The Collector’s Box contains a double sided souvenir poster. Rockstar says it showcases the full Leonida landscape, while its official store specifically describes the item as featuring a map of Leonida.

That could make it one of the most closely examined pieces of GTA 6 merchandise released so far.

The geography of GTA 6’s open world has been the subject of extensive fan speculation since Rockstar began showing Vice City and the wider state. Trailers and screenshots have revealed urban areas, wetlands, highways, beaches and smaller communities beyond the city itself.

A physical map should provide a much clearer sense of how those areas fit together.

There is also some nostalgia involved. Printed maps were once closely associated with Grand Theft Auto releases. Long before digital maps became standard, unfolding the physical map included with a new GTA game was part of the experience.

This time, however, getting one requires a significantly larger investment.

The Game Being Sold Separately Changes the Value Equation

The controversial part is not necessarily the $399.99 price on its own. Premium collectibles can become expensive quickly, particularly when branded products such as Oakley sunglasses are involved.

The bigger issue is expectation.

When players see something resembling a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition at this price, many will naturally expect the game to be included. Rockstar makes clear that it is not.

That means someone who wants the complete package on launch day must buy the Collector’s Box and a separate copy of GTA 6.

Rockstar has already opened preorders for the game itself, including its more expensive Ultimate Edition. The Goodtime State collection therefore sits alongside those editions rather than replacing them.

It is effectively premium merchandise for people who have already decided which version of GTA 6 they want to play.

Limited Stock Could Still Make It Highly Sought After

Rockstar says The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection will be produced in limited quantities. It is currently available for preorder through the Rockstar Store, with the collection scheduled to arrive on November 19, 2026.

That is the same date GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The timing is deliberate. Rockstar is positioning the collection as part of the wider launch experience, even though the software remains a separate purchase.

More GTA 6 apparel and collectibles are also on the way, according to Rockstar. That suggests the company is only beginning its merchandise campaign around Vice City and Leonida.

For most players, spending nearly $400 before buying the actual game will be difficult to justify. For serious GTA collectors, the calculation may be different. Limited production, branded accessories and the physical Leonida map give the box qualities that ordinary game editions cannot offer.

Still, the irony is impossible to ignore.

You can spend $399.99 on one of the most elaborate GTA 6 merchandise collections Rockstar has produced and receive sunglasses, a hat, a manatee shot glass and an alligator with a secret compartment.

But if you want to actually play GTA 6, you will need to open your wallet again.
