Rockstar Games has revealed one of its most expensive pieces of GTA 6 merchandise yet, a $399.99 premium collector’s package filled with items inspired by Vice City and Leonida. There is, however, one particularly noticeable omission.
It does not include Grand Theft Auto 6.
The collection, officially named Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, is being sold separately from the game. That means anyone spending $400 on the package will still need to buy GTA 6 if they actually want to play it.
It is an unusual proposition, especially at this price. Still, Rockstar has packed the box with 11 physical collectibles, including branded products from Oakley and New Era, alongside several fictional items connected to the world of Leonida.
What Comes With the GTA 6 Collector’s Set?
The collection leans heavily into the fictional culture Rockstar has created around GTA 6’s Leonida. In particular, several pieces reference Macca the Gator, an in-universe television character.
The complete package contains:
- A six-inch Macca the Gator figure with a hidden stash compartment
- Matte black GTA VI Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses
- A New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback with Vice City and Leonida details
- A Macca the Gator magnetic mirror
- A Vice City collectible swizzle spoon
- A Vice City razor blade keychain
- A Leonida Keys crossbody bag
- A Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
- A Leonida Keys enamel pin collection presented in a metal tin
- Premium stickers packaged inside a stash bag
- A double-sided souvenir poster featuring the wider Leonida landscape
The Oakley sunglasses are likely responsible for a significant portion of the package’s price. Frogskins models are already positioned as premium eyewear, making their inclusion considerably different from the inexpensive trinkets traditionally found inside many gaming collector’s editions.
Even so, $399.99 remains a substantial asking price.
The $400 Price Does Not Buy GTA 6
The most important detail is easy to miss among the merchandise: the GTA 6 game is sold separately.
Rockstar is therefore treating the Vice City Collection more like a standalone premium merchandise box than a conventional Collector’s Edition. That distinction matters. Traditionally, players expect an expensive special edition of a game to include either a physical copy or a digital entitlement.
Here, buyers are paying exclusively for the collectibles.
That approach may surprise fans, but it is not entirely new. Publishers have increasingly experimented with collector’s boxes that are separated from the software itself. Doing so also removes the need to create different merchandise packages for PlayStation and Xbox customers.
For Rockstar, it offers another advantage. Someone can purchase the collection without tying it to a particular platform.
For players, however, the calculation is less flattering. The real cost of owning the collection and GTA 6 will exceed $400 once the game itself is added.
Rockstar Is Selling GTA 6 as More Than a Game
The contents also reveal something interesting about Rockstar’s broader strategy for Grand Theft Auto VI.
Rather than filling the box with generic GTA logos, Rockstar has designed much of the merchandise around fictional brands, characters and locations from Leonida. The Macca figure, Leonida Keys bag and Chunkee the Manatee glass effectively turn objects from GTA 6’s fictional culture into real products.
That makes the collection an extension of the game’s world rather than simply promotional merchandise.
It is a familiar Rockstar technique. The Grand Theft Auto series has always relied heavily on fictional brands, television programs, advertisements and consumer products to parody American culture. GTA 6 appears ready to expand that concept beyond the screen.
Fans may also pay particular attention to the double-sided souvenir poster. It showcases the broader Leonida landscape, making it one of the more directly game-related pieces in the package.
Limited Quantities Could Make the Set Hard to Find
Rockstar says the collection will be available in limited quantities. Preorders are already open through the Rockstar Games Store, with shipments scheduled to begin on November 19, 2026.
That date is significant because it matches the scheduled launch of GTA 6 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
If the collection sells through its initial allocation, Rockstar says customers will be able to add it to a wishlist and receive a notification if more inventory becomes available.
The limited production run could make the package attractive to dedicated collectors despite the price. GTA merchandise associated with major launches has historically developed its own resale market, particularly when products disappear from official stores.
Whether that happens here will depend on how limited the supply actually is.
A Collector’s Package With a Different Purpose
The absence of the game will inevitably dominate discussion around the $400 GTA 6 collector’s set. At this price, expecting GTA 6 somewhere inside the package is hardly unreasonable.
Yet Rockstar clearly is not positioning this as the definitive version of the game. Instead, it is selling a separate box of premium memorabilia aimed at the most enthusiastic collectors.
There are genuinely distinctive pieces inside. The Oakley collaboration gives the set a recognizable retail product, while the New Era cap and Leonida-themed accessories reinforce the fictional Florida-inspired setting. The poster should also appeal to players interested in examining Rockstar’s new open world.
But the central question remains unavoidable: is a box of GTA 6 merchandise worth $399.99 when GTA 6 itself is not included?
Rockstar appears confident that enough fans will say yes. With the collection being produced in limited quantities and GTA 6 approaching one of the industry’s biggest launches, the company may not need to convince everyone.
It only needs to convince the collectors.
