GTA 6 Fans Flood Real Florida Nudist Resort With Fake Reviews After Leak Comparisons

A real nudist resort in Florida has become an unexpected target of GTA 6 fan activity after players drew comparisons between the property and a location reportedly seen in leaked footage from Rockstar Games’ upcoming blockbuster.

Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee has received a wave of joke reviews referencing Grand Theft Auto VI, fictional characters and events that never actually happened at the property.

The resort has taken much of the attention in good humour. However, it has also asked GTA fans to stop posting fabricated reviews because they can interfere with genuine feedback from real visitors.

It is a strange collision between Rockstar’s fictional Florida and the real one.

GTA 6 Leak Sparked Comparisons With Cypress Cove

The situation developed after GTA 6 material circulating online appeared to show a clothing-optional resort or community somewhere in Leonida.

Fans quickly began searching for possible real-world inspiration.

Rockstar’s fictional state is heavily based on Florida, so this kind of investigation is hardly surprising. Players have already identified apparent influences for beaches, roads, nightclubs, hotels and other locations shown throughout GTA 6’s trailers and promotional footage.

Cypress Cove eventually entered the conversation because of perceived similarities between the real resort and the location discussed by GTA fans.

There is no official confirmation from Rockstar that Cypress Cove directly inspired the in-game location.

That uncertainty did not stop the internet.

Fake GTA 6 Reviews Began Appearing Online

Once the comparison spread, people began leaving GTA 6-themed reviews on Cypress Cove’s real business listings.

Some reviews treated the resort as though it were already a location inside Leonida. Others referenced fictional experiences and characters associated with Rockstar’s game.

For someone familiar with the joke, the intention is obvious.

The problem is that review platforms are designed to help potential customers understand what a business is actually like. Fabricated comments can distort ratings and bury useful feedback from people who genuinely visited.

That is especially relevant for independent businesses that rely heavily on online reputation.

A joke that takes seconds to post can remain attached to a company long after the viral moment disappears.

Cypress Cove Responds to GTA 6 Fans

Cypress Cove has acknowledged the unusual attention rather than attempting to distance itself completely from the comparison.

The resort appears to appreciate the humour surrounding the situation and the curiosity generated by GTA 6’s version of Florida.

However, it has drawn a clear distinction between discussing the comparison and posting fake customer experiences.

The resort has asked people who have not actually visited to avoid leaving reviews.

That is a reasonable boundary.

Fans can speculate about Rockstar’s inspiration, share photographs and compare locations without interfering with the review profile of a real business.

Rockstar Has Not Confirmed the Real Inspiration

It is also worth stressing that fan comparisons are not the same as confirmation.

Rockstar regularly combines multiple real locations when designing its open worlds. A building might borrow architecture from one place while appearing in a neighbourhood inspired by somewhere completely different.

GTA 6’s Leonida appears to follow the same philosophy.

Vice City clearly takes inspiration from Miami, but the wider state includes wetlands, islands, small towns, highways and communities influenced by different parts of Florida.

Rockstar then reshapes those references to fit gameplay and satire.

Even if Cypress Cove resembles an in-game location, that does not necessarily mean the studio recreated the resort directly.

GTA 6 Fans Are Examining Florida in Extraordinary Detail

The incident demonstrates how intensely the community is analysing Rockstar’s new world.

Fans have spent years examining individual frames from trailers, identifying road signs, buildings, vehicles and geographical features.

The recent GTA 6 Extended Look only accelerated that process.

With more footage available, players can compare Rockstar’s Leonida with real locations across South Florida and beyond. Even brief background details can trigger hours of investigation.

This behaviour is not new to Grand Theft Auto.

After GTA 5 launched, players repeatedly compared Los Santos landmarks with their Los Angeles counterparts. Rockstar’s version of Vinewood, Vespucci Beach and Downtown Los Santos made those connections obvious.

GTA 6 simply operates under far greater online scrutiny.

Real Florida Is Already Feeling the GTA 6 Effect

Cypress Cove is not the only real-world place being pulled into GTA 6’s enormous marketing orbit.

Miami Beach officials have recently discussed a multimillion-dollar advertising agreement connected with Rockstar. The proposal could place subtle Vice City and VI branding on beach equipment ahead of the game’s launch.

Elsewhere, officials and law enforcement representatives have debated whether public institutions should participate in GTA 6 promotion because of the franchise’s depiction of crime and violence.

The result is an unusual situation.

Rockstar spent years transforming Florida into Leonida. Now GTA 6 is beginning to influence conversations, businesses and advertising in the real Florida before the game is even available.

The Leak Adds Another Complication

There is also an important distinction between official footage and leaked development material.

Rockstar has not formally presented every location appearing in unfinished GTA 6 footage. Development assets can change, move or disappear entirely before release.

Players should therefore be cautious about treating leaked material as a guaranteed representation of the final game.

The same caution applies to identifying real-world inspirations.

A fan theory can become widely repeated without ever being confirmed by Rockstar.

When that theory involves a real business, the consequences extend beyond gaming speculation.

GTA 6’s Popularity Can Spill Into the Real World

The fake-review episode may seem minor compared with the enormous expectations surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI. Yet it illustrates the scale of attention Rockstar is dealing with.

A few seconds of footage can send thousands of people searching for a real location. A convincing comparison can then spread across social media, Reddit, TikTok and gaming sites within hours.

That attention can be entertaining and even beneficial for businesses that embrace it.

But there is a line.

Posting fictional customer experiences on a real company’s review page crosses from fandom into something that can affect how the business is represented online.

Cypress Cove appears happy to be part of the conversation. It simply wants its actual reviews to come from actual guests.

Fans can still debate whether Rockstar borrowed inspiration from the resort when GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026.

Until then, Leonida can keep the fictional reviews.
