Rockstar Games may be preparing to show considerably more of GTA 6 than fans originally expected. A reported Netflix listing briefly suggested that the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look could contain three separate episodes, potentially pushing the complete presentation beyond one hour.
There is an important catch. Neither Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive nor Netflix has confirmed the three episode format. The reported listings have also disappeared, leaving their accuracy uncertain.
Still, the alleged runtimes have attracted attention for an obvious reason. If they are genuine, the August 27 presentation would be far more substantial than another conventional GTA 6 trailer.
It could be our clearest look at Rockstar’s next open world yet.
Three GTA 6 Episodes Reportedly Appeared on Netflix
The speculation began after a screenshot reportedly taken from Netflix Portugal appeared to show three entries connected to the GTA 6 Extended Look.
According to the listing, the first episode had a runtime of 23 minutes and 37 seconds. A second was shown at 24 minutes and 41 seconds, while the third reportedly ran for 18 minutes and 29 seconds.
Combined, those figures would produce more than 66 minutes of GTA 6 content.
That is significant. Rockstar’s previous GTA 6 trailers have generated enormous attention despite being relatively short. More than an hour would give the studio enough time to move beyond cinematic sequences and provide a deeper explanation of the game.
However, fans should not treat those runtimes as confirmed information. The entries are no longer visible, and Netflix’s current listing does not publicly show either an episode count or an official runtime.
The Netflix Listings Could Simply Be Placeholders
Temporary streaming service listings are not always reliable indicators of final content.
The three entries may have been internal placeholders accidentally made public. Netflix could also have been testing how the presentation would appear on its platform, or the information may have changed before publication.
Another possibility is that the three listings represent sections of a single production rather than three independently released episodes.
For now, Rockstar has confirmed only the broader GTA 6 Extended Look. It has not announced a three part documentary, three gameplay demonstrations or a specific runtime.
That distinction matters because anticipation surrounding GTA 6 makes even small pieces of unofficial information spread rapidly. Until one of the companies involved provides further details, the alleged 66 minute runtime remains an intriguing possibility rather than established fact.
What Could Rockstar Show in an Hour Long GTA 6 Presentation?
If the Extended Look genuinely lasts for around an hour, Rockstar would have considerable room to explore areas that its trailers have only introduced.
The most obvious candidate is GTA 6 gameplay.
Rockstar could demonstrate driving, combat, police encounters, exploration and interactions across Leonida. Fans have already examined the trailers frame by frame for clues about these systems. A structured gameplay presentation could finally replace some of that speculation with concrete information.
Jason and Lucia would likely receive substantial attention as well. Rockstar has established the pair as the central characters, but many details about their relationship and individual gameplay roles remain unknown.
An extended showcase could also spend time on Vice City and Leonida. Previous footage has shown beaches, nightlife, highways, wetlands and communities outside the central urban area. A longer presentation could explain how these locations connect and what players can actually do within them.
There is certainly enough material to fill the time.
Take-Two Has Already Suggested More GTA 6 Marketing Is Coming
Comments from Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick provide another reason to expect Rockstar’s promotional campaign to accelerate.
Zelnick previously characterized the Extended Look as only one part of a much broader GTA 6 marketing effort. Using a meal as his comparison, he described the upcoming presentation as one of the early courses, with substantially more still to come.
He has also said the Netflix presentation will feel more like a “show” than a conventional promotional clip.
That wording is interesting.
A short trailer would rarely be described that way. A structured program divided into several sections, however, would fit the description much more naturally.
It still does not confirm the leaked episode information, but it gives the rumor additional context. Rockstar appears ready to move into a more intensive phase of GTA 6 marketing as the November launch approaches.
Netflix Gets GTA 6 First Before YouTube
The distribution strategy is also unusual for Rockstar.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look is scheduled to premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on August 27. Netflix viewers will receive the first opportunity to watch the presentation.
Six hours later, at 9 p.m. ET, the program is scheduled to become available through Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the official GTA 6 website.
The temporary exclusivity gives Netflix a major gaming event while still ensuring that the presentation eventually reaches Rockstar’s enormous online audience.
For viewers without Netflix, the six hour delay is therefore the main difference. The footage will not remain permanently locked behind the streaming service.
A Three Part Format Could Give Rockstar More Freedom
There are practical reasons Rockstar might choose multiple episodes instead of a single uninterrupted presentation.
Different installments could concentrate on different parts of the game. One could introduce Jason and Lucia, another could focus on Leonida and gameplay systems, while a final section could examine activities, vehicles or Rockstar’s approach to building the world.
That structure would make a lengthy presentation easier to watch and give individual topics more room than a fast moving trailer allows.
Rockstar has used detailed gameplay videos for previous releases, including Red Dead Redemption 2. GTA 6, however, carries a level of mainstream attention that makes a Netflix presentation plausible as something closer to an entertainment event.
Fans may be surprised by the possible runtime, but GTA 6 is hardly following an ordinary marketing campaign.
Rockstar Still Has Plenty to Reveal Before November
Despite years of anticipation and enormous analysis of every official trailer, many fundamental details about Grand Theft Auto VI remain undisclosed.
Rockstar has not fully demonstrated the moment to moment gameplay loop. Several systems remain unexplained, and the company has been selective about discussing the wider structure of Leonida.
The August presentation therefore arrives at an important point.
GTA 6 is currently scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That leaves Rockstar roughly three months between the Netflix showcase and launch.
If the alleged three episode listing proves accurate, August 27 could mark the moment when Rockstar finally begins answering many of the questions surrounding its next blockbuster.
If it proves inaccurate, fans are still getting a confirmed Extended Look with additional marketing expected afterward.
Either way, Rockstar’s long period of carefully rationed GTA 6 information appears to be approaching its final stage. The only real uncertainty is how much the company intends to show at once.
