GTA 6 may be delayed again, warns Tom Henderson
Fans of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) may need to be patient. Journalist and insider Tom Henderson, known for his accurate predictions in the video game industry, believes that the Rockstar Games title will not be ready in time for its planned May 2026 release. According to him, the game may be delayed once again — this time to October 2026.
Another delay on the horizon?
During the Insider Gaming Weekly podcast, Henderson shared his opinion bluntly: “Honestly, I don’t think it’s going to be May. For some reason, I just can’t imagine GTA 6 coming out that month. Recent rumors don’t point in that direction either. Personally, I think we should look to October.”
The statement reignited doubts among players, already accustomed to Rockstar’s slowness in meeting deadlines.
Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier had already stated that the May date was not definitive, now reinforcing speculation of a further delay.
Rockstar and its history of delays
Delays are nothing new for Rockstar Games studios. GTA 5 itself had its release postponed several times before hitting stores in 2013. Red Dead Redemption 2 suffered two delays and was only released in October 2018, a year after it was initially planned. This tradition seems to be repeating itself with GTA 6, one of the most anticipated games of the decade.
An expanding universe
While the release date is still under discussion, new information continues to emerge. According to a recent leak, GTA 6 will feature parodies of brands, apps, and websites, reinforcing its characteristic humor. References include satirical versions of platforms such as WhatsApp and Uber, elements that should add depth and relevance to the world of Vice City.
Expectations and uncertainties
Even without official confirmation, many fans believe that a delay until fall 2026 could benefit the project. “If it’s to ensure quality, let it take as long as it needs,” commented one user on a forum dedicated to the series. Others, however, fear that the prolonged waiting cycle will wear down the initial enthusiasm.
So far, Rockstar has remained silent. The studio avoids committing to dates, preferring to work away from the spotlight — a strategy that, while frustrating, often results in releases of exceptional quality.
GTA 6 therefore remains shrouded in mystery. May or October, the truth is that each new rumor reignites the debate and keeps the flame of expectation alive. After more than a decade since the last major title, fans know that patience is an inevitable part of the Rockstar experience.
